Up to Speed

Greetings!

So last night we checked out "Eight"....the event that was specifically designed for young adults 18-30. Alone "eight" is just a number but together we can "cr8" and "rel8"....making it a verb.

The sessions have been awesome...probably THE BEST Congress sessions that we have ever been to. There is such an expectancy of something awesome about to happen in our UPC movement.

Bro. Wayne Huntley ministered last night with a message titled "Its Over..its all right to be different" letting us know that we ARE different from the world...and thats a good thing.

Bro. Wayne Francis ministered this evening with a message that we go beyond and reach out to a lost and dieing world that is HUNGRY for God! To let go of the fears and things that are holding us back from our potential to do great things for the kingdom of God.

We can't believe that Congress is over, and, while we are sad to be leaving it already, we are pumped to get back to Des Moines and start reaching out to the community around us! We don't have time to be apathetic in our worship and in outreach....the Lord is coming soon and now is our time to STEP-UP and make a difference!!

Youth Congress 2009 has made us desire to go "Beyond." To reach into a vat of potential that some of us never even knew existed, until Congress.

We are headed home tomoro...renewed, refreshed and REVIVED! LOOK OUT DES MOINES....HERE WE COME!

Tuesday

Greetings!

Today was a fun, relaxing day. We went and checked out the Tennessee state museum and a replica of the Parthenon. Next we went and checked out Opry Mills Mall!!! Bro. & Sis. Deckard, John and Adam ate at a 7.99 buffet while the girls went and ate at Shoneys! There was a bad thunderstorm right as we were leaving to come home....we all got soaked coming inside our rooms. There was quite a bit of thunder and lightning as well.

The hotel is very enjoyable. Our rooms have their own individual kitchens as well as stack washers and dryers! There is also a sauna, a fitness room, 2 outdoor pools, an indoor pool and a game room w/ a ping pong table! We all played ping pong together tonight :)....it was quite an adventure!

Our plan tomoro is to split up...the boys are going to check out some historical sites including a civil war cemetary! The girls are planning on going shopping :). Tomoro night starts our first official night of Congress...we are pumped!

Luv,
The CAC Clan
